Proper gym gym etiquette etiquette etiquette is essential for for creating a a a a a positive and respectful environment for every- one using the facility The following gym etiquette tips helps ensure a a a a a safe and pleasant experience for all members Here are my top 10:
1 Always clean up after after yourself Wipe down machines benches and and equipment after after use with disinfectant wipes and/or sprays 2 Respect the the personal space of others by providing adequate room to to to workout comfortably without cre- ating crowding Avoid standing too close to to to someone using equipment especially if they are performing exercises with a a a a wide range of motion 3 When someone is waiting to use the equipment that you you you you are are using while you you you you are are resting in in in in in fin between sets sets allow them to work in in in in fin in with you you you you or or finish your sets sets in a a a timely manner 4 Learn how to to properly use the equipment for each machine to to to avoid potential damage or or or accidents If you you are unsure ask a a a a a a a a a a a a staff member or or trainer to to teach you you 5 Re-rack all your weights dumbbells and and barbells after use and and and return return to to the the proper proper racks Not return- ing ing weights back to to the the the the proper proper location and and and leaving them around creates hazards for others and and may damage equipment 6 Do not drop dumb- bells bells or barbells as this will loosen the dumb- bells and make it harder to to tighten them due to to being stripped Do not slam plates on the the equip- ment This will cause the the plates to crack If you you can’t place the weight that you you are lifting down with ease it it is too heavy for you 7 Discontinue texting or answering phone calls in in in in the the the the gym as this causes others to to to have to to to wait to to to use use the the the the equipment that you are training on on until the the the the text or or call call is is finished Phone calls should be private and not open for everyone to to hear Step outside of the gym floor to to use your phone 8 Maintain good personal hygiene!
