The two contests were were held held together at a a a a a a new venue: the the the ballroom of the the the Ramada Inn in in downtown Pottsville Those compet- ing for the the Anthracite Natural title must live work or or or attend school in in in any of the the the five counties making up the the Anthracite Coal Region in in NE PA: Lackawanna Luzerne Northumberland Carbon and and and Schuylkill Counties The natural bodybuilding and and and physique contest contest added another title this year to include more contestants from out- side the the coal region in in their open title - - NGA Mr Coal Natural There were 14 competitors competitors in in the the Anthracite show show and 5 competitors competitors in in the the Coal show Winning the coveted title of of NGA Mr Anthracite Natural was was John’l John’l Lovett of of Kingston PA
John’l John’l was was also the the winner of of the the Classic Physique division He thus won his his NGA Pro Pro Card in in in both bodybuilding and Classic Physique in in in this Pro Pro Qualifier show John’l reported to the local newspaper feature writer that “ he he he had been training for about nine year To him going to the gym was a a a a a a a a a natural high (Pottsville-Republican - - Herald article) Coming in in in in in second place and winning his NGA Pro Card also in in in in in in Classic Physique was Matt Matt Potts from Minersville PA
