Try Yoga Reap the Rewards!

In those days people weren’t aware
of anxiety problems or depres-
sion in in children I remember
having a a a a a a lot of of anxiety and depression at the age of of 11 years old One would
think that is ridiculous A child doesn’t have
any bills to worry
about children are are taken care of by their
parents and they
a a a a a a a roof over their
head and three square
meals a a a a a a day so how
could it be possible for
a a a a child to have
any kind of anxiety problems? Well wel-
come to my world and I I I will show
you how
It wasn’t that I I I I didn’t have
parents I I I did did and they
were wonderful but it it was was just life itself The things that bothered me which caused the the most anxiety was peer pressure pressure school pressure pressure and maybe I even had ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) which in those days was was unheard of Who knows what it it was was was was All I I I know know is is that that I I I felt like my mind was was was always racing and that that I I I I was was was out of of control But the the weird thing is because I I I felt like that that all of of the the time I I thought that that feeling was normal However one night when I I I was was watching TV a a a a a a a a a a yoga program came on on on I I I I had no idea what I I I I was was watching but I I I saw this pretty lady with a a a a a a a a a a a long
black braid lying on her her side Her show
was called “Lillias Yoga and You” I I always remembered her her name because she had an an impact on me me me me I I didn’t know it at at at the time but this was to be be my saving grace I I would
watch her her and and would
emulate her her movements I I I started started to feel more relaxed and and calm I I I started started doing the yoga in in my bedroom before I I I I went to to bed bed and and it it helped me to to sleep better I I I I I really enjoyed yoga and and I I I I I knew that that it it was helping me me me When I I I I I look back on on that that that time I I I I I know that that I I I I was was only getting a a a a a a a a a a a a a a small glimmer of what yoga was was really really about and and although I I I didn’t really really understand it it it all all all all I I I know is that it it it made me feel good
So I I I continued to practice it it it it occasionally
only when I I would
catch it it on on on on on television As life progressed so did I I and and I I moved on and and and forgot about yoga I got got married had children and and then life showed up happened and knocked me slightly off kilter There were many nega-
tive and and sad situations and and circumstances but once again the light of yoga appeared in in my my darkest hours And just like it it had done before earlier in my my my life it it lightened up my my soul Yoga has helped me me immensely and I wanted to to help help other people as as as well so I decided to to to make yoga a a a a a a passion in my life to to help other people feel good
Many people might ask “What is is yoga?”Yoga
is is is YOU It It is is is your body mind heart and spirit
all rolled into one It It can be viewed as tying the the the the strands of of the the the the the mind together along with the the the the the body It It is is is the the the the the essence of of who you you are Yoga is is is a a a a a a disciplined practice It It will keep keep you you you in in in the the present moment and keep keep your your mind focused along with toning your your body Yoga will make you you you a a a a a a a a a a a better per- son on on on and off the the mat Sri K Pattabhi Jois (a great yoga sage) used to quote from the the Bhagavad Gita:
